After 8 sessions and now in its ninth year, the Fajr International Festival of Visual Arts began with the aim of introducing the main ideas and the innovative and creative artworks.
This Festival kicked off with 103 domestic and international artworks admitted for the exhibition. Given the diversity of artists’ backgrounds and the presented fields of visual arts, this Festival has a different aspect from other events. This variety obliged the Festival’s Art council to think about making it a multi- disciplined event. Through a novel arrangement of the works next to each other, the works found a lifelike form with each supplementing the other.
The multiple discipline nature of the visual arts festival in its ninth allowed a volume to be placed next to a painting and a caricature next to an arrangement.
Moreover, the conference section of the Festival now in its seventh year will address the subject of “Study of Contemporary Arts” from 13th to 15th February 2017, during which the prominent lecturers in the field of art and thought will review the different chapters of modern art.
The other sections of this Festival are related to the works of acclaimed artists of the visual arts and the international section. Works from Spain and Mexico will be on display next to those of the famous artists of the country. It should be mentioned that the opening ceremony of this section of the ninth Festival will be on 3rd February 2017 at 16.00 in the Niavaran Cultural Center.
Furthermore, the ninth Fajr International Festival of Visual Arts, organized through a collaboration between the Bureau for Support of the Visual Arts of the Ministry of culture and Islamic Guidance and the Institute for Development of Contemporary Visual Arts will continue until 18th February 2017 at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Arts (from 10.00 to 19.00 – Saturdays closed) and the Niavaran Cultural Center. The visit is open to the public.
